CMCSS TEACHER RESIDENCY PATHWAY OPPORTUNITY

FOR CURRENT CLASSIFIED EMPLOYEES AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS

 

Are you interested in a career in education? Consider a tuition-free option to work as a CMCSS full-time employee while earning your degree and/or teaching certification. Our pathway programs can lead to a fulfilling career in education, serving diverse student populations, with little to no financial obligations. Upon successful completion of the residency requirements, candidates will be guaranteed a position as a CMCSS teacher.

 

Lipscomb Middle Teacher Residency (LMTR)

Certification: Middle grades 6-8 or Secondary certification in Mathematics or English/Language Arts

 

Applicants are required to have a bachelor’s degree to apply.  As a resident, you will work and be compensated as an educational assistant in a CMCSS Title I middle school while taking education courses through Lipscomb University with no expenses for tuition or textbooks. Through this experience, you will receive on-the-job training and mentoring with a highly effective mentor teacher.

 

 

Lipscomb Teaching Residency (LTR)

Certification: Elementary Grades K-5 and Special Education

 

Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree to apply. During year one of this pathway, you will work as a full-time teacher resident, while completing coursework to earn a master’s degree in K-5 and Special Education with no expenses for tuition or textbooks. You will be employed as a classroom teacher in year two while completing certification requirements. Class sessions, facilitated by Lipscomb University, will be held at CMCSS Central Services South with no financial obligation.
